Both men and women who are obese feel ashamed of their lumpy bodies and strive to lose weight. Weight Loss Plans for Women Take on Many Distinct Forms

The Internet is filled with a potpourri of Weight Loss Plans for Women that range from aggressive plans that emphasize heavy exercise to detailed food-consumption plans that sell healthy food packages to plans that merely suggest preferred foods to eat.

One of the most aggressive plans promoted on the Internet is jillianmichaels.com. ”America’s toughest trainer” is common verbiage espoused at that Web site. Her motto for weight-losing success is self, science, and sweat. Jillian says exercise, eating a proper diet, and gaining the support of others are critical elements for any weight loss program. As far as exercise goes, her Web site says, “Exercise is the best way to get those calories “out” and burn fat”.

Like many Web sites designed to help women lose weight, jillianmichaels.com encourages those who visit her site to invest in her weight loss program which includes workout videos and advice in regards to choosing right foods to eat, and how best to shop for them.

Healthy meals are sold to a wide array of clients of Medifast, a large weight loss company. Special meals are created and sold to select individuals such as those suffering from gout, those with Type-2 diabetes, nursing mothers, teens, seniors, and those undergoing bariatric surgery. Medifast meals arrive ready-to-eat, or can be mixed with water.

An interesting PS to Medifast’s services is that the company has a detailed program to help transition those who have achieved their desired weight loss goal into becoming people who won’t return to their pre-diet weight; which 85 percent of all people who lose weight dieting revert to within one year’s time.

A Web site extremely pertinent to this article is topweightlossreviews.com.

Topweightloss.com shares its opinion as to which women’s weight loss programs are ahead of the rest.

Among them were:

  • Medifast
  • Nutrisystem
  • Best diet pills of 2011
  • Sensa for weight loss

Fitnessmagazine.com deals almost exclusively with the issue of health. Instead of selling videos and meal packets, this site focuses on sharing a wide array of healthy advice to women, especially when it comes to the area of foods to eat.

Fitnessmagazine.com unequivocally states there are many foods women can enjoy and stay healthy.

Dark chocolate is an excellent example of one food, referred to in depth at this Web site, whose health benefits are grossly underestimated.

Wanting to share what this Web site ranks as top two foods to store in one’s freezer, refrigerator, and pantry respectfully, Fitnessmagazine.com suggests Lite waffles and appleberry muffins; Greek 2 percent strawberry and pineapple yogurt; and Kashi GoLean Crisp and Nature maple pecan granola respectively.

Yet these are mere samples of the many la weight loss posted on the Internet.

Diet pills offer advantages but are not a magic solution

So, the big question is how to effectively lose the weight. Exercise and low fat diets are the traditional remedies of course, but if this was all as easy as it sounds then there would be a lot more slim, trim and fit people walking the streets! Over the past few years, taking diet pills has become a very popular solution for women who are trying to lose weight. Do diet pills really work, and are they a safe, long term option? As with any health topic, the answers are never simple. However, enough research has been conducted for us to say that some diet pills are quite a powerful weight loss tool that can be safely used by women or men.

Before we get into the discussion on types and brands of diet pills, we need to talk about what these pills are NOT about.

1. Diet pills are NOT a magic solution to weight loss. They will not fix health problems which are not directly related to obesity. Some people get into these medications to improve their general health – this is not a good move. In fact, you need to be in reasonably good health before taking diet pills, in case you suffer unlikely side effects like diarrhea or vomiting.

2. You cannot continue an unhealthy lifestyle and expect a diet product to fix it for you. If your obesity problem is directly related to overeating or gorging yourself on sugary fast foods, or you suffer a compulsive eating disorder, you need to address this first. Taking diet pills might help you shed some weight, but the idea is to get rid of it and keep it off – and this won’t work if you keep eating unhealthily, or simply too much.

3. Fitness and well being stem from regular exercise. Exercise unfortunately doesn’t come in pill form yet…and these babies won’t build strength or endurance. You really need to be prepared to combine an exercise routine with your supplements.

Maybe this stuff sounds obvious, but it is not a joke – if you do some research you will find plenty of people posting and complaining on weight loss and diet forums. That they haven’t found any improvement in their fitness, that they have put weight straight back on, that they still feel low on energy…Diet pills do most definitely work, but it is important that we see them for what they are – a tool to help us lose weight, not do everything for us.

Although all weight control and weight loss drugs and supplements are commonly thrown together and referred to as diet pills, there are several distinct types which you need to understand.

diet pills can help you lose weight

Firstly, there are appetite suppressants. These are designed to catch the problem off before it starts, by encouraging you to eat less. Less goes in, less energy to store as fat and need to burn off. An appetite suppressant is known as an anorectic in the medical world, and at present one of the most widely used ones is called Rimonabant. This suppressant is sold under the market names, Remonabent, Riobant, and Slimona. Appetite suppressants are good for people who believe that their main problem is that they crave foods and snacks.

The second broad group of weight loss drugs are those that increase metabolic rate, basically causing you to burn more energy all day long. There are many natural products that claim to increase your metabolic rate, such as Taurine, and even good old caffeine. Just be aware that certain energy drinks or products that claim to help you expend more energy may in fact be so heavily laced with sugar that they provide no real net gain.

Thirdly and finally, there are diet pills that inhibit the uptake of certain compounds in your food – generally fats and sugars. Orlistat is a prescription drug (this means you will need to see a doctor to obtain it) which is currently popular in the USA. It is mainly sold under the trade name Xenical, and works basically by lowering fat absorption in the intestine. At present this type of weight loss pill is proving to be the most effective, for most people.

Before you make any hard and fast decisions, it may well be worth considering a natural approach. Natural weight loss supplements do not work for everybody, but they are generally safer and have fewer side effects. Natural or herbal diet pills are also fairly cheap when compared to prescription items, so this might be worth a try. There are also many foods which have appetite suppressant properties – apples, oatmeal (think porridge) and green tea are just a few that many people swear by.

Just remember that losing weight is not a quick process, and that you need to treat your body as gently as possible. Women who have been pregnant or anyone who has been ill may need to accept that weight loss will occur quite slowly, but take heart: you WILL lose the weight when your body is ready. If there is one thing you take from reading this, let it be that a healthy diet and lifestyle will eventually be what make you feel and look great. Yes, diet pills can help you get there, but you still need the determination to keep up regular exercise and eat well.

Finally, seek good medical advice. Most general practitioners have a basic understanding of weight control drugs and diet pills, and the authority to prescribe them, but you may find that a nutritionist or doctor who specializes in weight loss can give you a much better understanding of the various products available, how to use them, and what potential side effects you may expect.
